Verdant Sound

Verdant Sound is a recording studio and creative retreat set on six acres surrounding a private lake in New York’s Catskill Mountains. To introduce sound absorption to its dramatic live room — defined by 34-foot cathedral ceilings and a vast wall of windows — Turf translated the property’s actual topography into custom acoustic surfaces. 62 Cream Carved Wallscape panels feature a stylized version of the surrounding topography, while 102 Faded Denim Contour blades create an organic surface overhead. Working alongside more traditional studio treatments, Turf contributes acoustic performance while turning a necessary intervention into an environmentally inspired architectural expression.
